Penny

I love this super cute baby hat!

Details
This hat was knit using Bernat's Baby Jacquards yarn in Cherry Berry on size 6 circular needles. I love this yarn because it is a self-patterning yarn, meaning that as you knit, the yarn changes color and knits up in intricate patterns.

To make this hat, I cast-on double the number of stitches I needed and knit one round. Then in the second round, I knit two together for the whole round. After that I just knit normally until it was time to decrease to finish.

This effect was supposed to make a rippled brim, however as you can see from the pictures it didn't work. Not quite sure why, but I think it's because the yarn is fine, next time I may try tripling the amount of stitches I cast on. Fortunately the hat still looks very cute.
